The Omaha World Herald has named it’s All-State football teams for 2009.
Graham Butler, a junior at Johnson-Brock was named Class D1 All-State as a defensive back. In Class D2, Sterling senior Zach Lempka was named All-State on the defensive line. In Class C2, HTRS Senior Lance Hanzlicek was named All-State at kicker.
In Class C-1 two Syracuse Rockets were named All-State. Senior Nick Reed at wide receive and senior Adam Vogt at defensive back.
Named honorable mention All-State were:
Class C1 - Dakota Schulenberg from Falls City; Jake Royal, Jon Draeger, Mike Campbell and Jesse Jewell of Syracuse;
Class C2 - Adam Burgett; Aric Schnacker; Jake Fink; Curtis Rexroth and Cody Tasler from HTRS.
Class D1 - Jordan Pella, Kellen Unvert, Kevin Weyers, Nate Milke and Evan Buss from Freeman; Tyler Hahn, Jonathan Wenzl, Clint Damme, Mason Pelchat and Tyler Huey from Johnson-Brock;
Class D2 - Reed Barnhill, Andrew Meyer, Lane Scheitel, Derek Huppert and Sam Hamilton from Sacred Heart; Nick Gaddy from Lewiston; Jake Wirthele, Jutin Puls and Shane Benson from Sterling.
