The Mound City basketball tournament continued Wednesday with semi-final round action in both the girls and boys division.
In girls play Mound City defeated Craig-Fairfax 43-20 to advance to the Friday night championship game. Abby Haer scored 13 points and Laura Schoonover 10 for the Panthers.
Mound City will play Tarkio for the title. Tarkio beat South Holt 55-28.
On the boys side South Holt advances to the title game with a 58-46 win over Rock Port. Toby Prussman, Keiffer Buckles and Cameron Radley all scored in double figures for the Knights in the game. Chase Chamberlain led Rock Port with 15.
Craig-Fairfax knocked Mound City into the third place game with a 63-39 win. Jordan Showalter scored 18, Jacob Beck 13 and Kevin Dodson had 11 for CFX. Gage Rosier led Mound City with 14 points and Lucas Schawang scored a dozen.
In the consolation rounds today on the girls side it will be Nodaway-Holt against Rock Port at 4:30 p-m and West Nodaway against North Andrew at 7:30 p-m.
In boys consolation round action today West Nodaway plays Nodaway-Holt at 6 p-m. North Andrew and Tarkio wrap up the Thursday action at 9 p-m.
Friday night the girls consolation final will be at 5 p-m followed by the boys third place game between Rock Port and Mound City at 6:30 p-m. The girls title game between Mound City and Tarkio will be at 8 p-m Friday night.
On Saturday South Holt and Craig-Fairfax will play for the championship at 8 p-m. The boys consolation final will be at 5 p-m with the third place game between the Craig-Fairfax and South Holt girls scheduled for 6:30 p-m.
