PAWNEE CITY VOLLYEBALL TEAM KNOCKS OFF TOP SEED IN FIRST ROUND OF STATE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

The Pawnee City Indians won their first round game at the Class D1 state volleyball tournament Thursday afternoon in Lincoln. While the 7th seeded Indians technically upset the #2 seed Hay Springs Hawks 25-21, 25-18, 22-25 and 25-16, first year head coach Leisha Tennal agreed that Pawnee City was the better team. Callie Percival had a big day blocking and attacking for Pawnee City. Coach Tennal said the whole team played well. ( play audio :09 )
The Pawnee City squad has been playing it’s best volleyball of the season the past couple of weeks and Coach Tennal is hoping that will continue. ( play audio :04 seconds )
Pawnee City will play Howells in the semi finals this afternoon at 2:30 p-m. You can hear the game live on SUNNY 101.3 with the pre-game show beginning at 2:15 p-m.
