The Sacred Heart Irish are the 7th seed in the Class D-2 State Volleyball tournament which begins today in Lincoln. The Irish are 18-11 and take on second seed Chambers. The Coyotes are 30-1 on the season.
Chambers is the top ranked team in D2, the Irish are ranked 8th. Gametime is 1:30 at Southwest High School in Lincoln. You will be able to hear the game live on A-M 1230, KTNC.
In Class D-1 the Pawnee City Indians are seeded 8th and will take on top seed and 7th ranked Hay Springs at 1:30 at Lincoln East. You will be able to hear the game live on SUNNY 101.3. Our pre-game coverage begins at 1:15 p-m.
Pawnee City is 19-13 on the year while the Hawks are 22-2.
Other area teams in the state tournament this weekend include Meridian as the third seed in D1 playing at 8:30 tonight and Exeter - Milligan is the second seed taking on Winside at 6:30 this evening.
In Class C1 Syracuse is the 6th seed despite a 30-1 record on the year. The Rockets are ranked 6th in class C1.
