The Peru State College Men’s and Women’s Basketball team will be participating in the NAIA-NABC Coaches vs. Cancer Program on Friday.
The Bobcat men and women will host Haskell Indian Nations University in a MCAC Conference double header. The women’s game will start at 5:30pm with the men’s game to follow. Admission for the games will be FREE of charge with a free will donation at the door and throughout the game. All the proceeds raised from the event will be sent to the American Cancer Society in the local area.
The Coaches v. Cancer program is one of the designated charities recognized and endorsed by the NAIA-NABC. Colleges around the country at all levels have organized special events to help raise awareness and funds in the fight against cancer.
Many NAIA schools have designated special tournaments, dinners, auctions, and various other events to support the Coaches v. Cancer program. On the weekend of January 29-31 the NABC will hold the Suits and Sneakers campaign (this is when all coaches are asked to wear basketball shoes with their suits to help raise awareness).
