Bellevue, NE - The Peru State Bobcat Men’s Basketball team took on the 20th ranked Bruins of Bellevue University on Saturday afternoon in MCAC action.
The Cats executed their game plan perfect in the first half as they held the Bruins to just eight rebounds in the first period as the Bobcats were down just one point at the break. In the second half, Peru struggled to contain the Bruin’s drives as they outscored the Bobcats 51-36 in the second period to secure an 81-65 victory.
Peru had three players in double figures with Evan Williams leading the way with 18 points. Grant Cole came off the bench to post 12 points while Steven Burks added 11 points of his own. Freshman point guard, Joe Santo led the team in rebounding with eight boards.
The Bobcats will return to action on Tuesday, January 26th as they host York College in a rescheduled MCAC game. The tipoff is set for 5:30pm at the Al Wheeler Activity Center on Peru State’s campus.
