1st Baptist Church in Falls City will host AWANA Club meetings every Wednesday night at 6:45 pm through the month of May. The program is for children ages 4 through 7th grade.

MONTHLY MEETINGS

2nd Friday - The Table Rock Senior Center will host a card party on the second Friday of each month beginning at 7 p-m.


3rd Tuesday and the following Thursday - The Commodity Supplemental Food Program ( CSFP) distribution clinic is held the third Tuesday of each month and the following Thursday at 624 3rd Street in Humboldt. An appointment is required. To schedule and appointment or obtain more information on CFSP call Blue Valley Community Action at 402-729-2278.
CSFP provides nutritious foods to persons 60 or greater, children until the reach the age of six, and women who are pregnant or have had a baby in the past year. Qualified persons must live in Nebraska and be under the income guidelines.
Food items include canned fruits, vegetables and juice; canned and dry milk, hot and cold cereals; canned meat; peanut butter and dried beans; cheese; pasta or potatoes.

RICHARDSON COUNTY HISTORY MUSEUM
The Richardson County History Museum is located at 14th and Chase Streets in Falls City. The Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 2 - 4 p-m and also will be opened at other times by appointment. For more information call 245-4407.

HIAWATHA RECYCLING
The Hiawatha High School Biology Club accepts recyclable items on the third Saturday of every month ( weather permitting ) between 9 and 11 a-m at the west end of the high school parking lot.
Accepted items include glass, separated by color, clear, brown and green accepted;
Plastic - separated b number; Newspapers; Magazines; Tin cans with both ends cut out, labels removed and crushed; aluminum cans; Flattened Corrugated cardboard boxes; Non-corrugate cardboard such as cereal boxes, and 12 pack pop containers and Computer paper, shredded or not.
All glass, plastic and tin containers should be rinsed.

People who are working to "muck out" homes from the 2011 Flood are free to contact either the Emergency Management Offices in either Atchison or Holt Counties in MO, or the United Methodist Churces in either Rock Port or Mound City. 20th and 21st - Hunter Education Firearm Course. Sponsored by the Falls City Police Department the classes will be held the 20th 6:30 to 10 pm and the 21st 1 to 7:30 pm at the Falls City Hall Conferance Room. 21st - Junior Parent Post Prom Fundraiser Quarter Auction at the HTRS New Gym. Registration from 5-6 and Auction starts at 6 pm.

21st - The Mound City Lions Club will hold a pancake and sausage breakfast at the Nutrition Site in Mound City. Serving will begin at 7:30 am. The proceeds will go to the Nutrition Site and to the Lions Scholarship fund.

22nd - The Area Fellowship of Churches will be holding their Prayer for Christian Unity Service at 2 PM at the First Christian Church of the Nazarene at 1812 Wilson St in Falls City. 18 area churches will be represented in the service. The Community is invited to participate in the service. A free will offering will be taken and used for youth camperships. Refreshments will follow the service.

22nd - Pawnee City Christian Church will have a Chicken Noodle Dinner in the church basement 11 am - 2 pm. Free will offering. Proceeds will help replace their furnace.

29th - St. James Lutheran Church Luther League will hold a Soup Lunch 11 am - 2 pm. Free will offering 10% to World Hunger.


FEBRUARY

3rd - Chili feed and bake sale by the Auburn Junior class at the basketball games.

3rd - The Craig Community Teachers‘ Association will be hosting a soup supper prior to the CFX and Tarkio basketball games. The supper will be held in the Craig R-3 school cafeteria from 5 to 7:30 pm. All proceeds will be applied to the CTA Scholarship Fund.

7th - Richardson County Extension Event - Paint it a Million Ways. Learn a cool way to paint with ink by painting a masterpiece. For boys and girls ages 12-18 at the Richardson County Courthouse, 1700 Stone St. Falls City at 6 pm. Instructor is Jami Rutt, Extension Assistant. Cost is $5 which includes all materials. 18th - Richardson County Extension Event - Service Learning...A Way To Give Back. Come and learn how to make pillowcase dresses for little girls in Africa. Also begin a service learning page for fair. For Boys and Girls ages 10 and up at the Falls City Senior Center. You need to bring one new standard pillowcase, sewing machine (if you have one), sewing supplies. Instructor is Jami Rutt. Cost is free. Registration deadline is Feb 16th. 25th - Sons of The America Legion Humboldt Squadron #269 will hold an Icy Dice Run benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project. Registration starts at 11 am. 3rd - The 2nd Annual Southeast Nebraska Polar Plunge at the Legion Memorial Park in Auburn. This fun event creates awareness and raises much needed funds for Special Olympics-Nebraska and is open to all ages. Registration is currently taking place on line via the Special Olympics website www.sone.org where plungers will be able to raise money online. There is a $50 minimum per plunger to be able to take the waters.
