The Falls City Tigers will look to continue the impressive start to the season when they travel to Hiawatha to play the Red Hawks Thursday night. Falls City, at 8-1 on the season, is fourth in Class C-1 the latest boys’ basketball rankings compiled by the Omaha World-Herald. The latest rankings are in Tuesday’s edition of the paper.
Also in C-1, Syracuse is ranked 8th this week.
Other area teams with strong showings this week include Johnson County Central. The Thunderbirds are ranked 6th in Class C-2. Freeman holds on to the number two ranking in Class D-1, while Sterling is 6th in D-2.
Not too many area teams appear in the World-Herald’s girls rankings this week. Falls City Sacred Heart is ranked 4th in Class D-2. The top 10 in D2 are unchanged from last week. Diller-Odell is ranked 8th this week in Class D1. They were previously unranked. And Elmwood-Murdock, the only team to defeat Falls City Sacred Heart this season, is ranked 6th in Class C2.
